Ted’s love for woodcarving began when
he was a young boy,
after his grandfather handed him a simple gift
—a knife and a piece of wood.
That first spark of creativity,
however,
was set aside when life called.
He traded the knife for a hammer
and spent 40 years working as a proud union carpenter,
retiring at the age of 62.
In the decades that followed,
Ted returned to carving with passion,
creating thousands of pieces before passing
away in December 2024 at the age of 90.
While Ted found joy in the process of carving,
his greatest happiness came from sharing his work. He often said there was no better feeling than watching someone’s face light up when he gifted them one of his creations.
As you browse this collection of his carvings,
may they bring a smile to your face--
just as Ted would have wanted.
